Provocative Proposition:

Improve services from SCC law enforcement for mental health related calls and cases.

The current goals of the CIT Team are:

In 2004, all law enforcement personnel in SCC will receive de-escalation training for "5150" and other mental health related calls and cases to better serve the human rights and safety of the community.

Progress:

In November 2003, 10 hours of CIT were setup and placed on the calendar for all Santa Cruz County law enforcement personnel. This 10-hour CIT is part of the 100 hours of mandated training in 2004 and is currently in progress through out the county.
